Trump demoted Bannon because he cannot stand to be the object of satire and parody. We already know Spicer is under perpetual fire for being portrayed by a woman, the amazing Melissa McCarthy. And when is the last time we saw Kellyanne “Couchsurfer” Conway on TV?
Who should SNL and satirists target next? Think carefully. We have done a good job so far running some of the most dangerous players out by making them targets of laughter and scorn.
I am tempted to say Jared, the savior of the Middle East, US-China relations and the dozens of other tasks in this 36-year-old’s portfolio. But Trump will never disappoint his favorite child, Ivanka, and, frankly, if this is the kind of rule we are going to be subjected to, I am more comfortable with this rich young twit and his daffy wife in charge than the likes of Bannon and Steven Miller.
So, my pick is….Paul Ryan. Let’s get on the satire that makes Trump look awful and ridiculous, totally beholden to this craven establishment Randian. The rightwing is already on board to dump Ryan and throw the House into chaos. Let’s help them.
We all know Trump is going to “shake up his staff” every three months just as he did on the campaign trail, just as he is doing in office. So let’s help sow chaos and lead him to where he wants to go in alienating Ryan and much of the House.
